I like turning a complicated situation into a set of decisions people can act on.
From building software to shaping systems.
My career began in software development and expanded through project and programme leadership into data, cloud, platform and AI architecture.
That breadth shapes how I work. A technically elegant design is only part of the job. It also needs to fit the organisation, address its constraints and give the team a credible route to production.
I am particularly interested in modernisation, platform recovery and the move from AI experimentation to useful operational capability.
Working principles
Understand the system. Make the choices visible.
Start with the situation
Listen to the people closest to the work. Establish the problem, the constraints and what is still uncertain before choosing a solution.
Show the trade-offs
Make assumptions, alternatives and consequences explicit so the organisation can make informed decisions.
Design the journey
Describe the transition states as carefully as the target. Keep security, operability and recovery in the architecture.
Stay close to delivery
Use governance to support progress. Adapt the design when implementation brings new evidence.
